Adjunct Faculty, Digital Painting for Film + Games (On Campus)
Salary: $2440 (lecture)-$3340 (studio) per class, per term
Location: Lakewood, Colorado

The Game Art and Animation department are looking for a qualified candidate to teach the following classes, on campus: Digital Painting for Film + Games. The Game Art and Animation departments are focused not only upon creating artists that are well equipped to enter the industry but are also well rounded and have the sensibility to realize the vast array of potential their education will provide. Whether that is working at a AAA studio or creating lenticular holograms or working with jewelry fabrication. RMCAD, at its roots, is a Fine Art college and in all programs, we foster students to take their craft wherever it is they would like to go. The faculty in the Game Art and Animation departments are as diverse in experience as our students are in their passions. They are not limited to working solely in the game or film industries. Some faculty have worked as stunt performers but are also animators (a good combination of skills), others have worked in product development and 3D printing. The faculty serve the purpose to educate and encourage students to think creatively and consider how their talents may be used in a vast array of creative ways.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Instructional Activities: the practice and art of teaching, including evaluation by students, supervisor(s), and self. Faculty must also comply with all administrative and classroom management policies, procedures and instructional deadlines.
- Facilitate meaningful learning of curriculum, competencies and proactively support all facets of an inclusive learning environment
- Encourage a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning, and ethics
- Deliver instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement as well as effectively planning and preparing for classes for student success.
- Hold regular, weekly office hours.
- Attend required training sessions and departmental meetings (additional compensation provided)
- Regularly record class attendance in Faculty Portal and submit midterm/final grades by the due date specified.
- Provide timely, periodic, and meaningful feedback to students on assignments and participation.
- Successfully complete online Faculty Certification Course, a two-week faculty online orientation and certification class administered through RMCAD's Learning Management System.
Qualifications:
- Applicants MUST have an MFA within the field of Animation or Game Art.
- Must have experience in the field of digital painting, 2D animation, and 3D animation.
- MUST reside in the greater Denver Metro Area.
- Must demonstrate expertise in any /all the following programs: Autodesk Maya, Substance, Z-Brush, Pixologic, Unreal, and Painter/Designer.
- College-level teaching experience preferred.
