Director, Paid Media

Job Summary

Leads the Digital Marketing function and directs a multi-discipline management team that is responsible for driving the right audience to Equinix digital properties and converting prospects into the lead funnel through a defined user journey and experience.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead global media strategy and planning across various platforms, including paid search, social, display, and digital advertising to drive brand awareness, lead generation, and customer acquisition for both Enterprise and Mid-Market segments.
  2. Drive acquisitions and upsell campaigns, optimizing across all stages of the user journey and delivering predictable, reliable ROI from marketing investment to drive growth.
  3. Own and manage the paid media budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across channels. Monitor performance and continuously optimize campaigns for maximum ROI.
  4. Implement tracking and measurement systems to evaluate the effectiveness of paid media campaigns, providing regular reporting and insights to senior leadership on KPIs and campaign outcomes.
  5. Monitor industry trends, platform changes, and new ad technologies to keep the company ahead of competitors and ensure campaigns are utilizing the latest best practices and innovations in paid media.

Qualifications

  1. 12-15+ years experience in managing paid media campaigns in B2B technology companies, with a strong background in paid search, social, and display advertising with a focus on lead generation and customer acquisition for both Enterprise and Mid-Market.
  2. 7-8 years experience leading a team of media strategists and planners.
  3. Very skilled at analyzing campaign data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions to optimize performance and drive business results. Proficiency with analytics tools.
  4. Ability to communicate complex performance data and marketing strategies effectively to stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
  5. Extensive experience of planning and executing global, regional, and localized campaigns at scale; skilled in applying audience insights, segmentation, persona targeting, and integrating propensity models.

Compensation

The United States targeted pay range for this position in the following locations is:

  • San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $160,000 to $273,000 per year
  • California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $153,000 to $261,000 per year
  • Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $139,000 to $237,000 per year

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process. The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
