Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Some physical requirements of the Jr. Instructor position could be endurance including climbing, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate activities are required. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Have a willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering a program in the facility available. Operate with daily exposure to the sun and heat and varying environmental conditions.

Key responsibilities:
- Supervision and Guidance:
- Provides guidance and positive role modeling to campers, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Assists in activities for the assigned group of campers in alignment with the class schedule.
- Demonstrates Christian values and principles in all interactions, serving as a positive example for campers.
- Demonstrates effective camper behavior management and utilizes appropriate communication and discipline techniques as trained, when required.
- Promotes and stimulates camper participation to enhance their overall camp experience.
2. Classroom Management:
- Enforces compliance with camp rules, safety, and health regulations within the classroom.
- Maintains a positive, relaxed atmosphere during class time and throughout the day, encouraging conversation and camaraderie among campers.
- Assists in preparing solid and interesting lesson plans for each class assigned being ready to work with students of multiple skill levels and ages.
3. Community Engagement:
- Sits with camper tables during meals, serving as a table monitor.
- Actively participate in classes when not in a leadership role, contributing to the maintenance of a lively learning environment and fostering engagement.
- Participates enthusiastically as a team member in all-camp activities, evening programs, and special events.
- Embark on a transformative journey as a participant in the Service and Leadership Training (MIRA) program, where you will play a pivotal role in two key areas: contributing to the essential hospitality support teams by serving in the role of Jr. Instructor supporting camp counselors in mentoring and leading campers through various activities. As a MIRA team member, you'll experience life in a vibrant Christian community, engage in daily discipleship sessions with peers, and take on diverse roles around the camp. All of this as an opportunity to learn, serve, and grow in faith, under the guidance of the camp leadership team and our dedicated MIRA Supervisor.
- Actively promotes and embodies the values of Camp Hoblitzelle's summer camp program, fostering an environment that aligns with the camp's mission and principles. - Integrates faith into daily activities, contributing to the spiritual growth and development of campers within the Christian camp community.
4. Program & Activities Assistance:
- Assists with camp program activities and other assigned tasks, collaborating closely with other team members.
- Always promotes quality of programs and safety of campers in cooperation with camp rules and regulations.
- Engages in essential ministry duties, including sharing approved devotional content, participating in prayer sessions with campers, and participating in camp worship times.
5. Safety and Security:
- Ensures the accountability, security, and safety of campers during all camp activities.
- Reports all accidents to supervisors promptly and accurately, following camp procedures.
What we are looking for in you:
- Must be at least 15-17 years old.
- A heart for others and a mind towards Christ.
- Should be self-motivated and teachable.
- Prior knowledge and skills training in Child Education, Children's Ministry, arts education or similar field is recommended but not required.
- A willingness to abide by Camp Hoblitzelle's doctrinal statement and policies.
- CPR & First Aid Certified or capable of passing qualification (Cert. opportunities provided during Staff Training week.)

- Camp Staff Training and Orientation will be held 06/02/2025 - 06/08/2025 and participation is required. The 2025 summer Camp program session will be held 06/09/2025 - 07/13/2025. If you are unable to work the entire season, please let us know on your application.
