Position Summary
New Mexico Highlands University is seeking for its Music Program a Part-Time Music History Instructor and Ensemble Instructor, term position, (non-tenure-track). This instructor will teach Music History and Mariachi Ensemble for this fall semester 2024.
Duties and Responsibilities
The instructor will be responsible for teaching the History of Music from the Middle Ages to later Baroque and instructor will teach mariachi ensemble. Will assign the appropriate papers and will give exams throughout the semester, and prepare ensemble for performances
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in music or higher in performance or equivalent. Experience in ensembles, vocalists and instrumentalists. At least one year teaching at the university level, including music history. Experience organizing music education events.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters of Music
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Searching for a candidate highly qualified in the area of music history and music ethnomusicology from the middle ages to the high Baroque, mariachi ensemble instructor.
