Position Summary

The Sr. Public Relations Specialist will workdirectly with the Dean and School's leadership team to plan and implementcommunication and marketing strategies, develop strategic marketing goals andinitiatives as well as design and edit promotional materials.

The School of Architecture and Planning isseeking a dynamic and professional individual who demonstrates strength in writingpress releases and various announcements via social media platforms. Thesuccessful candidate will demonstrate an energetic and creative approach topublic relations, a collaborative team spirit, and have a keen interest in thedesign disciplines and professions of Architecture, Planning and LandscapeArchitecture. The Sr. Public Relations Specialist will assist with planning andcoordination of the School's 50th Anniversary celebration events tobe held in 2025.

The School of Architecture and Planning ishoused in George Pearl Hall on UNM's main campus. This unique facility wasdesign by internationally renowned architect, Antoine Predock. The Schooloffers the only professional accredited graduate degree programs inArchitecture, Landscape Architecture, and Community & Regional Planning inthe state of New Mexico. The School also offers graduate certificates inHistoric Preservation & Regionalism and Urban Innovation. In addition, theSchool boasts the Indigenous Design and Planning Institute, the only institutein the United States focused on Native American and indigenous design andplanning issues and concepts.

  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED;at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

1.Experience writing print copy for websites, emails, newsletters, press release

2.Ability to plan and launch marketing and communication campaigns

3.Ability to develop strategic marketing timeline
