FINN Partners’ Honolulu office is looking for a Senior Account Executive to serve as a primary client contact and ensure a high-level of strategic thinking, productivity and efficiency on assigned accounts. As a Senior Account Executive you will act as a client liaison, performing day-to-day administrative activities and becoming familiar with client products, markets and media to effectively support clients’ PR needs and long-range planning.


As a Senior Account Executive, you will have the opportunity to:

  1. Develop and write public relations plans and strategies, making proactive recommendations to clients.
  2. Prepare communication materials involved in the implementation of public relations programs for clients including: press releases, copy for newsletter articles, opinion editorials, and other media-related materials.
  3. Participate in new business programs and maintain new business presentations for current use.
  4. Manage and/or prepare content and layouts for publications, such as brochures, newsletters, and magazines as assigned.
  5. Provide direction and organize photo and video shoots for publications, social media channels, presentations and other communications initiatives.
  6. Handle special projects, new business assignments, and social/community involvement activities as assigned.
  7. Assist the team in crisis communication situations, as directed.

Additionally, you will be tasked with:

  1. Maintaining relationships with industry and editorial contacts to assure appropriate opportunities are realized for clients.
  2. Staying abreast of client’s industry and marketplace.
  3. Communicating regularly with clients on status, work in progress reports and conference call reports.
  4. Preparing reports for clients including activity and clipping reports, as assigned.
  5. Managing media and client contact databases, including the updating of contacts, and preparing and maintaining distribution lists.
  6. Managing online pressrooms, including uploading news releases and updating client information as directed.
  7. Reviewing daily media opportunities and alerting team to pertinent issues/opportunities.

To be considered for this role you will need to be located in Honolulu. You will be expected to be in the office at least 1 day a week and may occasionally be required to work during evenings and weekends, as well as off island travel.


The ideal candidate brings:

  1. Account service/management experience. Experience in leading the development of public relations and/or integrated marketing plans.
  2. Experience managing projects and leading a team.
  3. Crisis and issues management experience.
  4. Network of quality business and media contacts locally and nationally.
  5. Experience working with Office 365 and related applications.
  6. Understanding of Hawaii’s history, culture, and lifestyle.
  7. Active in the community, either through volunteering or as a member of a professional organization.
  8. A high degree of professionalism.
  9. A strong desire to learn and grow in the areas of public relations and integrated marketing.
  10. Experience in executing a public relations and/or integrated marketing plan.
  11. Understanding of budgets and general accounting processes.

Along with the qualifications listed above, you will be considered as a candidate if you have:

  1. Four (4) years’ experience in marketing, public relations, media or related field, or demonstrated equivalent capability to perform the required job duties and responsibilities.
  2. An ability to respond well under pressure.
  3. A strong ability to focus on accuracy, attention-to-detail, and timeliness.
  4. An ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  5. Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines with demanding quality requirements.
  6. Strong communication skills: writing, editing and verbal.
  7. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Public Relations, Media or related field/industry.

Compensation Range: $55,000-$62,000 commensurate with experience.
