About the role:
We seek an experienced public relations leader with a financial services background and strong storytelling skills to join our firmwide marketing team.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Brand and Communications, the Public Relations and Social Media Manager will focus on developing and executing a public relations and social media strategy that enhances our brand promise and drives engagement in our solutions.
- Are you passionate about PR strategy and executive prep? You will monitor investment industry trends in collaboration with our PR agency and identify media opportunities that align with our strategic goals and enhance our brand image and market presence. You will also play a role identifying appropriate BBH spokespeople and coaching and preparing them for media interviews and industry events.
- Do you have financial services knowledge? This role will focus on our Investor Services channel, partnering with BBH leaders whose expertise is quite technical and spans US and EU regulation, alternatives, foreign exchange, cross-border, securities lending, transfer agency, and custody. Your ability to simplify complex financial ideas and navigate the rapidly changing global asset servicing landscape, including marketing compliance with financial regulations, will correlate with your success.
- Are you an exceptional storyteller and writer? Storytelling skill is a valuable attribute, as you will spend a significant amount of time bringing to life regulatory insights, operational efficiencies, and how BBH is driving the future of the asset servicing industry. This content will take the form of press releases, talking points for speakers, and engaging pitches to media.
- Are you a social media guru who knows how to engage today’s audiences? Experience in social media, a passion for social listening, and the ability to articulate and educate internal audiences on social media trends across the financial services industry are desired traits. Monitoring and analyzing metrics that matter across firmwide PR and social media activity is an important KPI for this role, as is the ability to offer on-the-go updates on the success of current campaigns.
- Are you a skilled project manager and able to thrive under deadline? This role knows how to get things done – on time and with discretion. You will serve as the primary contact for media inquiries, exercise strategic selectivity, and coordinate interviews. You will build and nurture relationships with key media outlets, in partnership with our PR agency, as well as industry associations and regulatory bodies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in public relations, communications, marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in public relations, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Experience developing successful communications strategies.

- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills – and ability to convey complex financial information in a clear, accessible way.
- Social media campaign management experience; proficiency in PR tools and social media monitoring platforms a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment; highly effective service and relationship management skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to communicate confidently under pressure, crisis management experience a plus.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience coaching executives on messaging and public speaking.
- Highly flexible with the ability to think creatively and respond quickly to changing business needs.
