Our client in the aviation space is seeking a Senior UX Researcher to join their design team. This individual will lead efforts to conduct user research, synthesize findings, and provide actionable insights that will shape the design process from discovery to implementation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of UX principles, qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, and exceptional communication skills.
As a key contributor, you will collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to create exceptional user experiences, transforming business opportunities and user needs into impactful digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities:Experience in moderated and unmoderated qualitative testing. Proficiency in analyzing research data and delivering insights. Background in conducting ad-hoc research in diverse settings, such as airports or in-flight environments. Knowledge of UX principles and usability standards. Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills. Minimum Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead moderated and unmoderated research initiatives to inform design decisions.
- Conduct usability testing, field visits, ethnographic studies, surveys, and other research methods to gather data.
- Analyze research findings to generate actionable insights that guide the design process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced environment.
- Advocate for user-centered design through detailed reports and presentations to stakeholders.
- Source and manage targeted testing audiences to ensure relevant and meaningful research outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of relevant work experience.
- 5+ years of usability and user experience research experience.
- Strong understanding of user interface design principles and practices.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience with remote usability testing and focus groups.
- Knowledge of web and mobile platforms.
- Related experience in human factors, interactive design, or market research.
- Interview Process: 1-2 video interviews. Candidates are required to provide a portfolio prior to or during the interview.
- Travel: Up to 40% travel; travel expenses will be reimbursed.
- Work Location: Chicago
- Schedule: Hybrid (1-3 days in office)
- Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST
- Duration: 6-month initial commitment with a strong potential for extension.
- Pay Range: $60-80 per hour - W2 Only
