Job Description
The Fitzwater Center for Communication at Franklin Pierce University is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled individual to join our team as the Associate Producer for Ravens Sports Network (RSN) and Station Manager for WFPC-LP 105.3FM. This exciting position works directly with the Sports Network under the supervision of the Director to create and deliver high-quality athletic content across a variety of platforms, including FloCollege, podcasts, social media, livestreams, and WFPC-LP 105.3FM. Additionally, this role provides opportunities for student career development and fosters professional growth for those interested in media careers.
Key Responsibilities:
Ravens Sports Network (RSN) Responsibilities:
- Coordinate RSN programming, including livestreams, podcasts, pre-recorded content, and special programming.
- Produce RSN-specific content, including intros/outros, advertising for livestreams, stories for print and online publication, and engaging social media content.
- Work with athletic schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, ensuring high-quality content delivery for RSN platforms.
WFPC-LP Station Manager Responsibilities:
- Oversee station programming in sports, music, and culture.
- Recruit, train, and supervise staff, including RSN graduate assistants and radio station technology workers.
- Monitor compliance with federal EAS system and ensure adherence to the FCC and media laws and regulations.
Collaboration and Leadership:
- Represent the Fitzwater Center in building professional networks to advance the interests of the students and the University.
- Supervise and mentor students in the production of content, offering guidance on career development and professional opportunities.
- Collaborate with Fitzwater Center staff on non-athletic programming, including Commencement, The Fitzwater Honors, and summer programming like "The Presidency & The Press."
Professional Development:
- Maintain industry knowledge by participating in professional associations, attending relevant training, and staying current with industry trends.
- Foster student professional development by advising a student chapter of a relevant national professional association, organizing student trips to professional conferences, and providing mentorship.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in media production, sports or broadcast journalism, digital media design or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
- Proven experience in media production, including live broadcasts, podcasts, and social media content creation.
- Understanding of radio station operations, including FCC regulations and EAS system monitoring.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to mentor and guide students in a fast-paced, dynamic working environment.
- Demonstrated mastery of various industry-standard applications, including Production Truck, the Adobe Creative Suite, audio and video editing tools, lighting, audio systems, and digital video camera and broadcast technology.
