Job Details Job Location Main Campus - Edmond, OK Position Type Student Salary Range $11.00 - $11.00 Hourly Job Category OTRS Ineligible Position Overview This is a Federal Work Study Program (FWSP) Clerical position in which the student will perform computer and customer service-related duties in an office setting. Hours per Week 15 - 25 hours per week. Must be able to work during the summer months with the possibility of a few nights and weekends. College/Department Overview The Department of Wellness and Sport enriches the academic mission of the University of Central Oklahoma by promoting transformative experiences through diverse sport, recreation and wellness opportunities to create a culture of lifelong wellness and success. Department Specific Job Functions Design and production on projects including direct mail, invitations, t-shits, medals, awards, bib numbers, programs, signage, ads etc. for all Department of Wellness and Sport programs and events. Communicate with outside print vendors, relaying specs on pricing, and proofing. Take part in multiple rounds of editing on any given project. Maintain good attendance and punctuality. Other duties as assigned. Must be able to work during the summer months. Enrollment Requirements Fall/Spring Semesters : All student employees must be enrolled at least halftime to be eligible to work any UCO student position. Halftime enrollment for Fall/Spring is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. International students shall be enrolled full-time to be eligible to work as a student worker. Full-time enrollment is 9 credit hours for graduates and 12 credit hours for undergraduates. Summer Semester : Student employees working regular student positions must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours to be eligible to work during the summer. Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in Fall classes in order to work on campus, but they (and the department) will be required to pay FICA taxes. Student employees working FWSP positions must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (if undergraduate) or 5 credit hours (if graduate) in order to work during the summer in a Federal Work Study Program position. Enrollment Exception : If the number of credit hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum number of hours required for student employment, the student must obtain a letter from their Academic Advisor (stating the number of hours needed to graduate and anticipated graduation date) and submit it to Human Resources. FWSP Requirements In order to be considered for the Federal Work Study Program (FWSP), you must be approved for work study through the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships, and you must accept your FWSP award in UConnect. Contact the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships for assistance. Please be aware, Summer FWSP is not included in the award for Fall/Spring FWSP. Summer FWSP is an individual application process. Enrollment requirements for FWSP employment are the same each semester. Undergraduate FWSP students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours, and Graduate FWSP students must be enrolled in a minimum of 5 credit hours. If a student is enrolled in their final semester and the number of credit hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum number of hours required for student employment, the student must obtain a letter from their Academic Advisor (stating the number of remaining credit hours needed to graduate and the anticipated graduation date) and submit the letter to Human Resources. Superior attention to detail, especially under pressure of deadlines. Capable of working on multiple design projects at a given time. Strong communication skills and customer service orientation. Successful at working in a team environment. Excellent design sense. Positive attitude toward colleagues and outside vendors. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Qualifications/Experience Preferred Excellent written and oral communication skills. Detail oriented. Have sensitivity of intercultural communication, and good interpersonal skills. Preferred- pursuing a degree in graphic design. Preferred- sophomore, junior, or senior.
