Job Description

As a Senior Environment Artist, you will work independently to create exceptional art, and play a key role in designing the incredible environments for Project Orion - the follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077 and the next major video game in the Cyberpunk franchise.

Daily responsibilities

  • Participating in the creation of ideas and plans for locations/levels for the upcoming Orion project.
  • Collaborating with the Art Directors and Art Leads to maintain artistic consistency and vision for the game while building uncommon worlds.
  • Creating high quality 3D models fitting Project Orion aesthetic. 
  • Creating high quality, photorealistic textures using various tools and middleware.
  • Setting up materials and shaders to achieve the best possible final quality.
  • Collaborating effectively with Level Designers, Concept Artists, Environment Artists and every team involved in creating locations.
  • Maintaining and improving production and optimization pipelines.
  • Putting finishing touches on locations and cutscenes with existing meshes and decals.
  • Mentoring and feedbacking team members.
  • Being a knowledge base for other artists.
Qualifications

  • Min. 6 years of experience in the video games industry and at least one AAA title shipped in portfolio.
  • Excellent skills in one of the leading modeling packages (3DS Max, Maya, Blender etc.) and Photoshop.
  • Great sense of scale, proportions and composition.
  • Good knowledge about color theory and basic lighting techniques.
  • Knowledge of physically based rendering (PBR).
  • Creativity and an excellent eye for detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Passion for games.

Nice to have's
(Please note that these skills are not required to apply for the position)

  • An understanding of level design principles. 
  • Experience with  photogrammetry in games.
  • Experience with procedural content creation packages (Substance package, Houdini, World Machine).
  • Sculpting skills.

This job requires working in Boston, US.
Working mode: in-office in a hybrid or full-time capacity.
