This position does not have a set schedule. Holidays, weekends and evenings may be required.
Basic Function
Serves as the primary media contact, promotes all sports, and oversees all aspects of internal and external communications for each varsity sport program in the Denison Athletics Department. Compiles and reports results and statistics. Develops and maintains Athletics Department website. Produces game programs, features, and press releases. Trains and supervises assigned staff, including student staff.
Serve as a lead over other employees working for the Athletic Communications office. Responsibilities may include training, scheduling or assigning work and will conduct employee performance evaluations. Essential Job Functions Develops and maintains the Athletics Department website and assists with team webpages. Coordinates and maintains social media networks. Writes and distributes features and press releases.
Oversees live audio and video for home competition. Produces game programs.
Compiles statistics and reports results to the NCAA, NCAC, and appropriate media outlets. Distributes news releases to local, regional, and national media sources.
During active matches and games, oversees the public address system, clock, and scoreboard operation and staff.
Trains and supervises assigned staff.
Coordinates interview requests for players, coaches, and staff.
Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree is required
1-3 years of job experience working in a Sports Information or Athletic Communication department. Preferred Qualifications 8-10 years of experience working in a Sports Information or Athletic Communication department. Physical Demands Minimal physical demands required. Primarily the ability to climb hills and stairs to get to outdoor press boxes.
