Job Title: Intermediate Designer


Seeking candidates with an innate sense of style. A love of furnishings and architecture. A skilled understanding of materials and construction, with a keen eye for detail. An explorer of proportion, form, and function.


Job Description:

As an Intermediate Designer, you will collaborate directly with the Design Leads on the design and documentation of BAMO’s renowned interior spaces. You will grow your craft as you begin to take responsibility for designing, directing, and coordinating a variety of high-end projects. You will research and explore, setting the mood and design vocabulary through spatial layouts, details, materials, lighting, and furniture. The Intermediate Designer’s role will vary depending on the specific nature and size of the projects. We welcome your distinctive viewpoint and creative contributions.


What you can expect in a Intermediate Interior Designer Role at BAMO:

  • Assist, collaborate and initiate ideas with the project team in the design process (developing ideas, bringing ideas to the table) and in the production of interior architectural design and construction documents on a variety of project types including hotel, restaurant, residential, and commercial office interiors.
  • Participate with the project team in producing presentation materials and in presenting designs to clients and other consultants.
  • Support the project team in conducting construction-phase activities including site visits, shop drawing review, requests for information, drawing and document updates, project record-keeping.
  • Develop relationships and work closely with various consultants on projects.
  • Expand your knowledge of high-end interior design resources (vendors, professional sources) with regular in-house presentations and travel to industry conferences.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • College-level degree required (interior design or related field).
  • Minimum 4 years experience
  • Experience in Residential, Commercial, and Hospitality strongly preferred.
  • Experience required in sourcing and documenting FF&E design and/or selection & documentation of interior architectural finishes.
  • Understanding of construction, materials, and methods.
  • Take initiative and ownership of all tasks on projects.
  • Meet deadlines and ensure accuracy of all work produced.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and thorough.
  • Positive attitude, team-oriented, flexible, and productive.
  • Skilled in three-dimensional computer design, rendering, and planning.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, InDesign, SketchUp, Illustrator, Photoshop, and hand sketching.
