Naked Wardrobe is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Associate Fashion Designer with a passion for innovation in contemporary fashion. You will ensure that your work can be transformed into a finished product efficiently, collaborating with our technical design and production teams while building relationships with external vendors. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Collaborate with Design team on seasonal development of knit and woven products, creating detailed tech packs, drapes, and construction details
- Assist with the design and development of multiple style categories and fabrications, including cut and sew knits, fully fashioned knits and wovens
- Assist in the creation of embellishment and embroidery artwork for seasonal heirloom pieces
- Prepare presentation materials such as line sheets and look books
- Create and maintain a style library, including tagging samples, capturing photos, and gathering fabric/trim information
- Maintain the flow of samples leaving and returning to the design room and assist the design team in creating and updating CADs, uploading styles to the PLM system, and creating tech packs.
- Assist with fittings by preparing for fitting sessions, taking photos, tagging garments, and facilitating the overall flow during fittings
- Responsible for updates from fittings, design meetings, and other sessions for styles as assigned
- Assist with research for future collection development by gathering inspiration and trends
- Organize and keep track of approved fabric headers and any development approval forms for fabric, trims, etc.
- Exhibit strong skills in garment construction across all categories, including knits and wovens
- Take initiative for both the biggest and smallest tasks while being self-sufficient
- Be process-oriented, and have a keen eye for details to ensure the highest quality output in all design projects
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in fashion design or related field
- 5+ years of experience in apparel industry
- 3-5 years of technical design or related experience
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Share
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Suite (Illustrator & Photoshop)
- An entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for the apparel business and the ability to work effectively as a team player
- Experience working with overseas factories
- Understanding of the brand ethos and alignment with Naked Wardrobes design aesthetic
- Knowledge of garment construction & fabrication, and the ability to create front and flat sketches of garments
- Self-starter with grit and a highly creative mindset
