Job Description
Position Summary: Candidate will be responsible for the mechanical drafting design work associated with CAPEX projects to facilitate equipment and plant facilities upgrades & documentation maintenance for process improvements and related company goals.

- Technical experience specific to the role are as follows:
- Fluency in mechanical & electrical design utilizing latest AutoCad and/or Solidworks software
- Fluency in perform calculations as required on mechanical systems such as sizing of piping, fluid systems, pumps, as well as ability to size shafts, power transmission components, motors, gearboxes, bearings, as well as other systems.
- Fluency with working on both an equipment general arrangement level as well as on a detailed design level of parts/components using drafting software required.
- Responsible for the detailed drafting & design of mechanical process systems at any one of the Polyglass USA locations under direction from the perspective department managers.
- Takes detailed concepts from the perspective project engineering colleagues and moves them from concept to detailed engineering packages with direct oversite from the mechanical project engineering manager. Upon detailed engineering completion, candidate to execute technical specifications, drawing sets, scopes of work, recommended spare parts, operating instructions, assist plant with work instructions specific to new equipment start-up.
- Candidate must be able to facilitate design review sessions with their customers to solicit feedback. Holding effective meetings is mandatory.
- Candidate shall often facilitate solicitation for quotes with various suppliers. This to include development of bid packages, drawing packages, and RFQ documents to be used to receive estimates for said work.
- Candidate shall demonstrate competency associated with all aspects of drafting & design from concept to completion
- Performs other duties as required.
TIER KEY SKILLSETS:
- 2-5 Years of proven drafting / design experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
- Fluent in latest AutoCad & Solidworks Software
- Communication skillsets (written and verbal)
- Close interaction & communication with plant maintenance departments to facilitate plant support and equipment modification objectives.
- Proficient in Microsoft office products, advanced drafting software. experience with latest AutoCad & SolidWorks software.
- 2-5 Years of proven drafting / design experience with successful execution track records on safety, quality, cost, and delivery expectations in a manufacturing setting.
- Must be able to travel up to 20%
- Technical degree in mechanical design or BSME, BSIE, or BSEE preferred.
