Position Overview FPL and FPLA seek a self-starting and strategic Associate Director of Media to develop and lead communication efforts that support building the organization and CEO’s profile and help execute narrative strategy for the organization. The ideal candidate will be an innovative communicator with a deep commitment to social justice, adept at driving public engagement and experienced in developing campaign messaging that mobilizes grasstops faith leaders and shifts public opinion. The position will work closely with the press secretary and report to the Senior Director of Communications. Key Responsibilities - Strategic Communications Leadership: Lead the execution of cross-channel communication strategies for education and advocacy campaigns and principals, aligning messaging with FPL and FPLA’s mission and goals. - Campaign Messaging: Craft clear, persuasive, and impactful messaging for public campaigns to protect and expand comprehensive reproductive health & equity and to prevent & combat political violence. Ensure messaging resonates with target audiences, including grasstops faith leaders, people of faith, policymakers, and the general public. - Media Relations: Cultivate relationships with media outlets, pitch stories, and secure media coverage to elevate FPL’s campaigns. Prepare grasstops spokespersons, state cohorts, national coaltion members and FPL principals for interviews, press briefings, and other media engagements. Draft press releases, op-eds, and media advisories in service of FPL and FPLA’s campaigns. - Collaboration & Cross-Departmental Work: Work closely with campaign teams, program staff, and external partners to ensure consistent and coherent messaging across platforms and activities. Act as a liaison among communications, development, operations, and organizing teams to ensure that FPL’s voice and vision reflected in media strategy are carried through across all organizational teams. - Performance Measurement: Track, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of campaign communications goals using metrics such as media coverage, messaging use, message saturation and audience growth. #J-18808-Ljbffr
