SUMMARY
The Associate Director, Planning sets the working style for our lead, leads strategic direction, and is the marketing partner for the clients. This person is an expert on the clients' business and a leader within the team and agency.
This role will manage a team, report into the Media Director and sit on the agency's management team.

Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the media plan output quality, target-centric ideas and timeliness.
- Evaluation of syndicated consumer and media consumption information to identify new ideas, partners, tactics, etc.
- Oversee consistent sharing and use of competitive market/media information for each brand, including business insights that can inform media as well as broader marketing actions.
- Serve as comprehensive specialist in existing and new business relationships, with ability to articulate research, strategic approach, buying expertise of team and business outcomes.
- Work with buying SMEs to build recommendations and ensure KPIs are achieved. Facilitate knowledge sharing across the team, including learnings between clients and industries.
- Assist in managing account and team profitability as well as proactively manage workload capacity, project timelines, etc. This person will have a significant role in writing and managing SOWs
- Coach team on media strategy, target-driven recommendations, problem-solving, etc. to grow individual and team expertise. This includes facilitating internal and external training.
- Grow culture of the team and agency as a leader, including participation in team events, ensuring best practices are implemented and leading by example in excellence.
- Twelve+ years of media planning experience, with preference given to agency background.
- Specialization in digital is a plus, but broader tactic mix knowledge is required.
- Ability to research, justify and sell in a media mix strategy. Must have experience with reach curves, understand flighting/schedule impact and deep understand tactic strengths / situational roles in a plan.
- Strong management history of leading direct reports, including coaching in tactical excellence and facilitating upward career movement/learnings.
- Strong mathematic and analytical skills, with ability to project business impact using market, client and industry data. Proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint required. Proficiency in MRI-Simmons and comScore is also required.
- Bias for transparent and open dialogue and an always-learning lens.
- This position is a hybrid position. You must be able to be on-site Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday weekly.
- Ability to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
