Technical Writer
Job Description
The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating procedures, training materials, instructional documents, guidelines, maintenance instructions, work instructions, and test procedures for products related to the production, operation, installation, assembly, and maintenance of the company's products. This role involves producing high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and contributes to the organization's overall success. The Technical Writer will collaborate with key team members from Engineering, Quality Assurance, Operations, Technical Support, and Production departments to gain a comprehensive understanding of the product and technical documentation requirements.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $37.00

Job Description
The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating procedures, training materials, instructional documents, guidelines, maintenance instructions, work instructions, and test procedures for products related to the production, operation, installation, assembly, and maintenance of the company's products. This role involves producing high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and contributes to the organization's overall success. The Technical Writer will collaborate with key team members from Engineering, Quality Assurance, Operations, Technical Support, and Production departments to gain a comprehensive understanding of the product and technical documentation requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain technical documents, including Operator Manuals, Training Manuals, Maintenance Manuals, Technical Service Bulletins, Installation Instructions, Overhaul and Repair Instructions, Parts and Provisioning Documentation, and Calibration Procedures.
- Ensure documents are clear, concise, and technically accurate, utilizing photographs, drawings, diagrams, animations, and charts.
- Participate in formal design reviews to generate notes and action items.
- Provide oral and written status and progress updates to program management, executive management, and customer management.
- Prepare technical literature detailing food processes.
- Collaborate with the Marketing department to create technical white papers.
- Lead the development and production of technical animations.
- Create and manage video training documentation.
- Gather information on equipment and food process knowledge for use in written manuals.
- Maintain all relevant industry standards on file for use by design engineers (OSHA, ANSI, CE, CSA, etc.).
- Organize and lead project risk assessment documentation.
- Develop and organize factory training program content.
- Bachelor's or Technical degree
- Experience in technical writing
- Ability to read and interpret documents, instructions, engineering drawings, and procedure manuals
- Familiarity with SOP and document control
- Experience in scientific or technical writing
- Mechanical aptitude, skills, or hobbies
