About the team:
Tapestry, isX’s moonshot for the electric grid. We are a team of software engineers, power systems experts and clean energy geeks who are impatient to tackle climate change head on through our energy system. The electric power grid, in particular, is a focus as it is currently responsible for a quarter of global carbon emissions. Tapestry is on a mission to make the world’s electric grid visible so everyone, everywhere can access clean, affordable and reliable energy. We are working with partners around the world to create AI powered tools that will help everyone who works with the grid build and manage a carbon-free and secure electricity system.

About the role:
As a UX designer you will work closely with a talented cross functional team to design and build an exciting suite of innovative products that push the boundaries of user experience for the energy industry. You will collaborate with product, software engineers, research, industry and ML experts to help define the future for intuitive, enterprise-grade, and state-of-the-art AI toolings that empower stakeholders and radically transform the energy space.
How you will make 10X Impact:
Create end-to-end innovative design solutions through mock-ups, prototypes and detailed specs to drive the product vision.
Communicate designs to both internal and external teams via compelling storytelling. Clearly rationalize and justify design work and be an advocate for the user experience.
Own and tailor deliverables based on product and/or functional requirements, balance platform constraints, technical limitations, and stakeholder needs to deliver intuitive and effective design solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Build robust partnerships with engineers, product managers and other xFN team members to build, audit, and launch design into production environments, and to ensure accurate implementation of intuitive experiences.
Partner and consult with feature teams to advocate for the capabilities of the design principles and language & how we are optimizing the development process.
Establish and maintain common components, documentation in the design system, and maintain patterns and libraries to ensure design coherence across all projects, products and platforms.
Bring forth a passion for design, and infectious obsession with craft and quality.
What you should have:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience in consumer or enterprise software development.
3-5 years of professional experience in UX, information architecture and visual design.
Knowledge and experience with data visualization and enterprise design.
Experience implementing visual design systems across platforms in an iterative software development environment, applying design tools (e.g. Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch).
Strategic thinker, can work within constraints, and execute with attention to detail.
Strong ability/vision to navigate ambiguity and complex problem space by devising beautiful creative solutions.
Great communication and presentation skills.
It’d be great if you also had these:
Experience with enterprise software development in the energy sector.
Advocate of user-centered design principles and research across multiple platforms.
Strong technical knowledge (front end web applications).
Motion design and prototyping skills.
Experience working in fast paced startup environment.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000 - $170,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
