The Opportunity
Join our mission-driven Education team as a User Researcher and help shape the future of education! We’re passionate about developing innovative pilot projects that address the needs of educators and students. You’ll have a direct impact on pilot teams and contribute to identifying future opportunities in education, including emerging technologies like AI.
What You’ll Do
- Work with product managers and designers to define research objectives, create user personas, and outline research plans that align with project milestones.
- Design and conduct various user research activities, such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, and ethnographic studies, to gather qualitative and quantitative data about user needs, preferences, pain points, and behaviors.
- Analyze research findings to uncover actionable insights and create clear, concise, and compelling research reports to inform product decisions.
- Partner with design and engineering teams to translate research insights into actionable design recommendations, advocating for the user’s perspective throughout the product development lifecycle.
What You’ll Bring
- A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a UX researcher, preferably in educational technology or nonprofit sectors.
- Strong expertise in qualitative research methodologies, including user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and ethnographic studies.
- Proficiency in using UX research tools and platforms.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex research findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams, collaborating effectively with product managers, designers, and engineers.
- A deep passion for education and empathy for learners and educators.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Experience working within Education or Philanthropy spaces.
Compensation
The Redwood City, CA base pay range for this role is $163,000 – $245,000. Actual placement in range is based on job-related skills and experience, as evaluated throughout the interview process.
