Job Title: Associate EngineerJob Description

As an Associate Engineer, you will produce clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation including technical notes, specifications, guides, and materials for electrical engineering safety systems. You will conduct research and gather information from technical leads, engineering specifications, and other relevant sources to ensure accuracy and completeness of technical content. Collaborate closely with engineers and designers to gather information and ensure alignment on technical documentation requirements. Review and edit technical documents for grammar, clarity, consistency, and adherence to standards and industry best practices. Maintain and update existing technical documentation to reflect changes in product features or specifications. Perform quality assurance checks on technical documentation to verify accuracy, completeness, and usability. Continuously evaluate and improve documentation processes, tools, and templates to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Hard Skills

+ Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Technical Communication, or STEM related field

+ Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, terminology, and concepts

+ Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen attention to detail

+ Proficiency in technical writing tools such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Visio; Google Suite; Content Management systems such as Confluence and other documentation software

+ General knowledge of interlocks and PLC based systems (preferred)

+ Experience with graphic design tools and creating visual aids for technical documentation (preferred)

+ Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electrical engineering documentation (preferred)

Soft Skills

+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines

+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Berkeley, California and some days remote.

Work Environment

Hybrid- 3 days onsite required
