Tesla is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our in-house Cloud Infrastructure Platform team. The Technical Writer will collaborate with Engineers, Software Developers, and other stakeholders to document our cloud services, infrastructure, and software development processes. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of both software development and infrastructure management, enabling them to create clear and comprehensive documentation that supports our technical and business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Create process documentation that clearly and efficiently communicates cloud infrastructure concepts, software development practices, and operational procedures
- Convert verbal information from meetings and discussions into detailed written procedures and manuals
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather and validate technical information
- Develop visual aids such as diagrams, flowcharts, and infographics to enhance documentation clarity
- Manage and organize documentation repositories to ensure all materials are up-to-date and easily accessible
- Edit and proofread documentation for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to company standards
- Assist in the creation of training materials and support internal training initiatives related to cloud infrastructure and software development
- Continuously improve documentation processes and stay updated with industry best practices in technical writing and cloud technologies
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably within the software development or cloud infrastructure sectors
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and infrastructure management
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical diagrams, code snippets, and architectural documents
- Proficient in using documentation tools like Markdown, Confluence, or similar platforms
- Experience with version control systems, preferably Git
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high proficiency in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Experience with digital photography and videography is a plus
