smartdept. is searching for a Web Designer for a global health and wellness client located in Ada, Michigan. The ideal candidate will come with 3+ years of experience. This is a part-time, hybrid, 12-month contract opportunity with the possibility of an extension. Compensation for this position is expected to be $35-$45/hour depending on experience level and fit.

Our client is seeking a creative and versatile Web Designer with a strong background in web and email creative production. This part-time role offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid capacity, combining remote flexibility with in-person collaboration. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design, a passion for creating visually compelling content, and a strong understanding of digital design, specifically HTML production. As a member of the creative team, you will report directly to the Creative Director but work cross-functionally to produce high-quality design assets across web and CRM channels.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and execute digital design assets for web, social media, email campaigns, and other digital marketing channels.
  • Create and optimize graphics for responsive websites, mobile applications, and e-commerce platforms.
  • Ensure design consistency and brand alignment across all digital assets and brands.
  • Deliver HTML that meet specifications for email production based on approved designs.
  • Route these HTML files through translation / localization team to content loaders for publishing.
  • Ensure HTML files quality is maintained and that best-practices are followed.
  • Work closely with the Creative Director, project leads and creative project manager interpret briefs, conceptualize designs, and execute visual concepts.
  • Translates facts and features of subject material into visuals and graphics that best convey the intended meaning
  • Manage digital files, ensuring proper organization, version control, and adherence to project timelines.
  • Conduct quality control checks on both digital and physical assets to ensure the final product meets the highest standards.
  • Utilize Workfront to route proofs and final files named within the job for publishing (jobs will be submitted via request queue in Workfront for review & approval prior to assignment).
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality design output.
  • Balance work across digital and print projects, adjusting priorities as needed to meet the creative team's needs.
  • Independently resolve problems, perform tasks and deliver assets on-time.

What You’ll Need:

  • 3+ years of professional graphic design experience.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of design skills across digital platforms and specifically HTML production.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (HTML, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, etc.).
  • Experience in preparing files for web production, including knowledge of HTML, file formats, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with current design trends, digital media, and CRM content best practices.
  • Knowledge of web design principles and experience with tools like Figma, Sketch, or other UI/UX design software is a bonus.
