Status: Full time, exempt; This position is included in a union-represented collective bargaining unit; specific employment terms and conditions are subject to labor-management negotiations and a potential Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Salary Range: $55,000 - $64,500

 

Position Summary

 

The Senior Creative Associate will conceptualize, design, and deliver fresh and creative visual assets to support The Hub’s campaigns centered around advancing progressive economic and democratic policy. The Senior Creative Associate will work closely with The Hub’s various campaigns and initiatives to produce compelling print and digital designs assets, as well as rapid-response video clips and concepts for social media. We’re looking for someone who gets excited about the latest trends in graphic design, animation, and video; understands what kind of content performs well online; enjoys exploring typography, color, and composition; maintains high standards for quality and attention to detail; and has experience creating eye-catching visuals. The ideal candidate is able to jump right into our fast-moving campaigns, respond quickly to breaking news, and help us develop compelling brands. 

 

As Senior Creative Associate, you will: 

 
  • Collaborate with the creative team to develop video and design concepts for creative assets across social platforms and bring those concepts to life 
  • Partner with the campaign team to develop visual ad assets for multiple platforms that help meet campaign goals
  • Respond quickly to breaking news with visually arresting content 
  • Brainstorm new approaches to creative products
  • Cut and produce rapid-response videos for campaigns to meet the moment and elevate key messages in the news cycle, including clipping from TV and pulling archival video
  • Capture photographs and videos of events, occasionally requiring travel
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

About you:

 
  • Minimum of 2 years of applicable experience
  • You have exceptional design skills and a commitment to exploring the latest trends, and love experimenting with style, tone, color, and fonts
  • You have experience designing print and/or digital content for organizations or brands
  • You have experience creating effective social-first design content.
  • You have experience creating effective compelling digital and print ad content for paid distribution.
  • You have experience creating print design collateral, including signs, buttons, stickers, palm cards, t-shirts, etc. 
  • You have experience guiding the creative ideation, production, and review processes for products of all shapes and sizes
  • You have experience clipping and captioning video
  • You’re organized and detail-oriented
  • You’re an expert in Adobe Creative Cloud programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign, or other graphic design tools
  • You are proficient in Adobe After Effects and Premiere
  • You are comfortable taking on evolving responsibilities in a fast-paced work environment
  • You are a self-starter and take initiative

Employees are able to enroll in 401k retirement plan and are eligible for a 3% automatic contribution and up to a 3% employer match on 401k contributions. Employees are also eligible for pre-tax transportation benefits. Employees will receive 120 hours of vacation time, 80 hours of health leave, up to 2 days of casual leave, and 20 hours of volunteer leave annually. Employees will also receive 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are eligible for 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave after 90 days of employment.
