Position Summary:

Discovery is looking for a talented and passionate Associate Scientific Writer and Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. The Associate Scientific Writer & Data Analyst role is a position that contributes to our mission as a team by generating components of formal written reports that detail the outcome of contracted work agreed upon by the Sponsor.

A Day in the Life of an Associate Scientific Writer & Data Analyst at Discovery Life Sciences:

  • Assist team members to generate selected sections of scientific reports.
  • Use a standard light microscope and image scans to capture digital images for report figures
  • Plan workflow to effectively meet and improve monthly deadlines.
  • Follow internal review procedures for data checks and report editing

Must-Have Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):

Must Have:

  • BS in Biology or related field
  • Proven writing skills such as undergraduate thesis, Master thesis, or similar is required

Nice-To-Have:

  • Prior working knowledge of immunohistochemistry (IHC).
  • Prior experience with microscopy, histology, or pathology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to generating well-written scientific reports that meet scientific professional and industry standards by completing assignments for upper-level teammates.
  • Use Excel to analyze scoring data, perform statistical analyses, and create graphs.
  • Use a standard light microscope and image scans to capture digital images for report figure.
  • Use scientific/laboratory knowledge to relay complex technical processes in a clear and concise format.
  • This position is deadline-driven – Plan workflow to effectively meet and improve monthly deadlines
  • Complete assignments directed by upper-level teammates to increase departmental workflow.
  • Use organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain an understanding of the scientific principles and applications of the IHC business unit.
  • Adhere to the established formatting style with strong attention to detail.
