Our team is looking for qualified proposal writers with a focus on Assisted Acquisition Services (AAS) Defense utilizing the FEDSIM service delivery model. Specific experience in the areas of FEDSIM staffing plans, staffing rationale, script writing, technical/management slide development and slide architecture are a plus!  

This position is within the Growth Office’s Capture Operations & Excellence Group, which supports Leidos' largest, most strategic bids across the enterprise. As such, this is an exciting role for those that want to make an immediate impact and be recognized for their contributions to our organization. This role is to support competitive captures, with a focus on FEDSIM captures, as a Proposal Writer. The successful candidate will work directly with our Capture Executives, Solution Architects, and Technical Volume Leads to develop work products to meet the needs of our customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and providing proposal expertise to all Leidos Sectors, to include Defense Systems, National Security, Civil & Health, Digital Modernization, and Commercial & International. The Proposal Writer should have experience and a proven successful track record on large, complex bids.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Architecting and development of AAS/FEDSIM proposal slides, staffing plans, staffing rationale, transition plans, management approach, technical approach, and orals presentation scripts.

  • Provides direction and oversight to supporting proposal writers.

  • Apply communication and interviewing skills to gather needed information from internal and external personnel to support writing activities.

  • Write clear, persuasive, and articulate proposal sections; translates complex ideas into easily understandable text.

  • Develops and implements process improvements to help improve proposal quality.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 8+ years of related experience, 5+ years of experience working as a proposal writer responding to Federal Government solicitations.

  • Experience with AAS FEDSIM proposals.

  • Experience with traditional video, live orals, and demonstration/scenario proposals.

  • Evidence of a successful track record of high quality, high scoring proposals.

  • Demonstrated success writing and leading technical, management, staffing, and transition volumes for complex efforts.

  • Excellent writing, organizational, and leadership skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong work ethic and desire to excel and keep growing over time.

  • Due to nature of the role, U.S. citizenship is required.

  • The position is primarily onsite in our Reston, VA headquarters with potential to telework up to 25% between live proposals. The expectation is to be onsite during proposal efforts. Support to the capture and proposal team may be required in various locations around the Washington Metro Area during the proposal effort.


Desired Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience working as a proposal writer responding to Federal Government solicitations.

  • 2+ years’ experience supporting AAS FEDSIM proposals.

  • Ability to coach and instruct others to facilitate consistency across multiple authors.

  • Active Secret or Top-Secret clearance and eligibility for SCI.

Pay Range:Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
