Overview Survey AutoCAD Operator UMIAQ Design is seeking a survey AutoCAD Operator to support the survey projects at Alpine on the North-Slope of Alaska. The UMIAQ Design survey team is actively working on many exciting long term design projects. The survey AutoCAD will work on a rotation 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off rotation with a small team of professionals in a collaborative office setting located in Alpine, Alaska. Responsibilities Summary As an AutoCAD operator, you will need to check field notes, perform field crew setup, archive drawings and field notes, process data collector files, and perform survey calculations. You will also be responsible for producing as-built surveys, permit drawings, topographic drawings, volume computations and be proficient using Microsoft Excel Essential Functions Assist the Survey Manager in planning, coordinating, controlling field operations, and completing office computations and mapping Research and preparation for field surveys, including pre-calculations Provide leadership for the field crew(s) in performing the survey(s) in an efficient and cost-effective manner Communicate with on-site client supervisors Neatly prepare thorough and accurate field notes and sketches for all assigned projects and complete administrative tasks for time keeping and project billing Develop and maintain proficiency in surveying methods and technologies through continuing education and training Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department and/or work crews Read and interpret maps, construction plans and documents Qualifications Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise: Boundary and location surveys Topographic / design surveys GNSS (GPS) surveys Route location surveys Construction staking surveys Required Experience: 3 year of survey experience or completed college degree program in land surveying #L1-WW1 #LI-WW1 Applicants may be subject to a pre-employment drug & alcohol screening and/or random drug screen, and must follow UIC’s Non-DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requirements.
