Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman’s Business Unit , Armament Systems, is seeking a Mechanical Designer 2 for our location in Plymouth, MN. Armament Systems specializes in the development and production of Ammunition, Guns and Precision Guidance Ordinance. Position Summary: Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA. Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications. Exclude classifications in which incumbents predominantly perform drafting assignments. Mechanical CAD Responsibilities: As a Mechanical Designer your responsibilities will be to model fully defined components and assemblies efficiently using Pro/E / Creo 7.0, and create/update parametric drawings in conformance with ARDEC 3D modeling standards. You will work with other engineers, technicians, program managers and administrative personnel to accomplish assigned tasks. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Accept work direction from other drafters/designers, engineers and manager on assigned project. Mechanical modeling utilizing Pro/E / Creo7.0 Create/update parametric drawings in conformance with ARDEC 3D modeling standards. Review work to ensure accuracy and completeness. Required Skills: Technical or Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Drafting/Design. Two years minimum Pro/E / Creo experience with a minimum of 1 year utilizing Pro/E / Creo 7.0 Ability to model fully defined components and assemblies efficiently using Pro/E / Creo 7.0 Ability to create/update parametric drawings in conformance with ARDEC 3D modeling standards. Microsoft Office experience. Must be a US Citizen Ability to obtain a secret clearance Preferred Skills: Possess an understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Understanding of Teamcenter PLM toolsets. Exposure to production/factory floor environment Exposure to or interest in ammunition, reloading, or shooting sports. Salary Range: $56,600 - $94,400 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
