POSITION OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES The Senior Mechanical Designer plays a key role in the successful execution of projects for our Industrial, Process & Agribusiness Group. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Senior Mechanical Designer is responsible for industrial plant design (oil seed, ethanol, etc.), producing quality construction documents and coordinating design work with other engineering disciplines. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead a design team and lead other mechanical designers. Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following: Responsible for the creation of all industrial project drawings which include but are not limited to General Arrangements, PID's, 3D models, piping and Isometrics. Layout and design complete systems of assigned projects Coordinate work with internal and external stakeholders, providing technical support and work direction. Schedules and leads design meetings and leads drawing reviews. Plan field work needs in advance and go to jobsite prepared. Gather accurate information. Take ownership of your work. Bring tasks to finish line, asking questions or for assistance as needed. Effectively estimate hours and scope of work. Contributes to the creation of budgets and project schedules. Manages the preparation of drawing documents. Provides leadership and guides the efforts of other designers. QUALIFICATIONS Required: An AAS Degree in design/drafting or equivalent work experience is required. Minimum of 10+ years of design experience. 3D design experience Project management skills and experience. Design experience in the development of mechanical general arrangements, piping systems, and piping and instrumentation of diagrams. Highly motivated, professional demeanor with a "can do" attitude. Experience in the review of mechanical equipment drawings. Team-oriented and strong work ethic. Proficient and accurate data entry skills necessary. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, shift focus if needed to assist other staff. Maintain a well-organized system to account for various information processed. Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others. Preferred: Proficiency with AutoCAD Plant 3D software. 3+ years of industrial plant design experience preferred. If Applicable: Travel: May include up to 10% domestic travel. Working Conditions: Some work locations will feature the rough terrain typical of construction sites or require lifting or moving field testing equipment.
