POSITION SUMMARY

The Media Buyer is responsible for development, management, optimization, and reporting for regional and local multichannel media programs to support our concerts, cultural events and brand client campaigns. Successful candidates will be able to build relationships with our internal teams as well as our media partners to develop and deliver high-performing campaigns. The Media Buyer will bring a creative and agile approach to planning and optimizing campaigns. A strong attention to detail is critical, as this role requires oversite of many active programs. The Media Buyer should have grit, a desire to learn, and the drive to seek continuous improvement in performance and ways of working.

ESSENTIAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Attend strategy meetings and provide expertise on media buying initiatives and suggestions with the ability to communicate effectively to clients/artists and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop relevant and thoughtful media plans that will engage the target audience by selecting the appropriate stations, programs and placements across radio, TV and OOH and negotiating aggressive rates as well as impactful promotions and time slots.
  • Flawlessly execute effective local media buys across radio, TV and OOH to support our concerts, cultural events and brand client campaigns.
  • Understand how to leverage insights, analytics and institutional knowledge to justify media plan recommendations.
  • Diligent, daily monitoring, management, and optimization of media campaigns.
  • Allocate media budgets effectively, monitor expenses, and ensure campaigns stay within budget while achieving desired outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers, media personalities and strategic media partners that can be leveraged to negotiate effective promotional opportunities and added-value opportunities
  • Prepare accurate campaign reports to illustrate campaign performance and optimization opportunities.
  • Work closely with client/artist/event managers to ensure timely delivery and optimization of marketing plans.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including event managers, marketing, and creative to ensure cohesive messaging and brand alignment across all media campaigns.
  • Attend meetings with client/artist/event managers in order to provide expertise and insights in client/artist discussions.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging platforms, and new advertising opportunities to ensure campaigns remain fresh and impactful.
  • Work closely with the Accounting department to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and to provide payment information to vendors and partners.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education/Certification/Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree or work equivalent combination in marketing, communications, business administration and/or a related discipline.
    • Proven track record for planning and executing successful local media/marketing campaigns.
    • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to spot original branding opportunities.
    • Requires a minimum of 1-3 years of traditional media buyer experience.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
    • Previous experience in media buying for TV, Radio, Print, and Outdoor.
    • Strong experience in management of Hispanic media buys is a plus.
    • Good interpersonal skills, along with the ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and media vendors.
    • Passionate and thoughtful about the work.
    • Self-motivated with strong organizational, management and time management skills with the ability to effectively set priorities.
    • Track record of building and maintaining relationships.
    • Excellent communication skills: oral, written, listening and presentation.
    • Ability to be nimble while accurately completing multiple duties and balancing competing deadlines.
    • Ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
    • Knowledge of media buying software (e.g. Strata) is a plus.
    • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web-browsers.

    • Must show initiative and possess the ability to make decisions and solve problems quickly and effectively.
    • Able to leverage data, experience and judgment to plan and make decisions.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
    • 20% local travel
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Constant:
  • When at the office; incumbent will be mostly sitting down in front of a computer.
Occasional:
  • Standing and presenting.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • Able to complete multiple duties with accuracy while shifting from one to another with frequent interruptions and competing deadlines.
  • Fast paced environment with peaks of intensity and increase in workloads.
