The Role
The Business Cards and Payments (BC&P) Product Marketing team is a passionate and entrepreneurial team of marketing strategists focused on communicating the value of our business products across our marketing channels to prospective and existing customers.
We are looking for a strategic, results-focused Senior Associate to support and deliver end-to-end strategies for our product roadmaps and business objectives. This person will become an SME for our card products and customer segments and partner with teams (marketing, product, design, insights, creative, channels, etc.) to influence how our products show up in-market. This includes optimizing existing card’s marketing campaigns as well as working with business and product partners on net-new features and product strategies.
The role will allow you to flex muscles in building go-to-market strategic plans, positioning and messaging, test and learn agendas, launching new products/features, and marketing across channels. Successful Senior Marketing Associates are able to tie together key marketing and business results, work across multiple marketing channels, build powerful relationships, and storytell for business impact, and most importantly, they have the desire to change how we “do marketing” at Capital One.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop insight-driven marketing strategies that include positioning and GTM strategy recommendations, testing opportunities and clear timelines.
Partner with the Insights team to deeply understand the target audience, validate product positioning and messaging, and act as the voice of the customer to the organization at large.
Manage creative development (with internal creative teams or agency partners) to ensure marketing is on-brand, high quality, aligned to our strategic intent and delivered on schedule.
Assess performance results of marketing campaigns and turn insights into actionable marketing plans
Understand how competitors are evolving their product and messaging strategies, and build strategies that position us for success in the market.
Contribute to articulating the future state of how we want marketing to work at Capital One, particularly driving how our marketing strategy evolves.
Proactively identifies opportunities for expansions, optimizations and improvements based on industry trends and marketing best practices
Understand and define the intersection of marketing strategy & marketing technology
Collaborate with channel & digital teams to deliver campaigns into market
Collaborate with multiple partner teams and navigate/negotiate through a complex organization
Analyze customer behavior data to identify opportunities and optimal segments to optimize marketing tests and strategies

Collaboration & Influence: ability to productively partner with a wide variety of teams across the organization to advance our goals and connect marketing activities to the underlying business strategy
Results oriented: Focuses on driving impact in both the short and long term, and is able to drive and execute an agenda end-to-end from conception through to in-market delivery within an uncertain and fluid environment.
Team player: Helps us achieve more than the sum of our parts by collaborating effectively with others and encouraging an inclusive culture with diverse teammates
Creative thinking & curiosity: Able to think outside the box for creative development and marketing strategy. Asking questions and pushing to think beyond how we operate today.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 2 years of marketing or marketing strategy experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Marketing, Business or Communications
3+ years of Marketing experience

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $99,500 - $113,600 for Sr. Associate, Marketing
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
