The Landenberg Store is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic team member to join our culinary team. You will play a crucial role in customer service and preparing/presenting delicious dishes & drinks to our valued customers. We are looking for someone with a passion for people to ensure our guests have an exceptional experience, every time they come in.

Compensation

  • $12/hour; tips are pooled and distributed on a pro rata basis.
  • Opportunity for raises with additional responsibility and excellent performance reviews semi-annually.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of the Landenberg General Store.
  • Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to maintain a clean and comfortable store environment.
  • Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues. Communicates information to manager so that the team can respond as necessary to create a welcoming environment during each shift.
  • Assists with new member training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.
  • Contributes to positive team environment by recognizing alarms or changes in staff morale and performance and communicating them to the store manager.
  • Delivers legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a "customer-comes-first" attitude and connecting with the customer. Discovers and responds to customer needs.
  • Follows Landenberg General Store's operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all partners during each shift.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace so that staff members can locate resources and product as needed.
  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Provides quality beverages and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards. Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
  • Takes responsibility for maintaining the cleanliness of all areas of the store, such as café area, bathroom, and kitchen. This includes doing dishes, restocking, and keeping the outside of the store clean.
  • Recognizes and reinforces individual and team accomplishments by using existing organizational methods.

Your Role will include:

1. Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of menu items, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts, following recipes and guidelines provided by the head chef.

2. Food Presentation: Ensure that all dishes are presented in an attractive and appetizing manner, maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency.

3. Kitchen Maintenance: Assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, including regular cleaning of workstations, equipment, and utensils.

4. Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and controlling food inventory, and promptly inform the kitchen manager when items need to be restocked.

5. Adherence to Health and Safety Standards: Follow all health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures, to maintain a safe and hygienic workspace.

6. Collaborate with Team: Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and smooth operation during service hours.

7. Flexibility: Adapt to changing circumstances and assist in other kitchen tasks as needed, including food prep, dishwashing, and assisting in the plating process.

8. Customer Satisfaction: Strive to meet and exceed customer expectations by consistently delivering high-quality food and service.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years experience working as a barista and/or line cook
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills
