Primary Purpose: Develop and execute upon marketing and communications strategy, elevating a unified Heritage brand through copywriting, graphic design and social media strategy.


Essential Functions and Requirements:

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Design highly visual and engaging content, collaborating across Heritage's businesses and departments to support a unified thought leadership and growth strategy.
  • Develop and manage marketing campaigns, collateral, signage, ad placements, and branded merchandise. Partner with graphic design and copywriting professionals (outsourcing where needed).
  • Promote Heritage across key social media platforms, establishing integrated content strategies to best reach a range of target audiences.
  • Write blog posts and LinkedIn articles featuring timely and relevant information for customers and prospects. Interview Heritage subject matter experts and draft content on their behalf.
  • Prepare content for the company website and support ongoing improvements for usability and design.
  • Report on metrics and monitor engagement across digital platforms. Stay current with digital trends, recommending new tools and adjustments to strategy and media mix.
  • Follow industry news and track online mentions for Heritage and key customers. Share findings with stakeholders across the company.
  • Engage with community and industry contacts, pursuing strategic thought leadership and volunteer opportunities.
  • Develop marketing and communication strategy for internal and external projects or programs. Partner with marketing team members and key stakeholders to ensure tactical plan is actionable, on-strategy, within budget, and feasible based on timing and resources. Contribute to marketing and communications strategy for the Heritage Environmental Services brand.
  • Aid in the development and deployment of content strategy in alignment with Heritage value proposition messaging and core values.
  • Provide consultation for internal and external brand deployment to ensure consistency across all channels.
  • Responsible for the Heritage Environmental Services brand guidelines across all visual representations of the brand. Ensure the brand is properly applied across all marketing touchpoints for external and external use. Develop new templates to adapt to new channels and needs.
  • Successful candidate must be able to travel up to 15% of the time to support key events and gather content (visiting Heritage and customer sites, for example).

Education: Bachelor's Degree required (Marketing or Graphic Design degree preferred).

Experience: Minimum five years of marketing experience required. Environmental Services industry background is preferred, but not required. Public relations or creative agency experience is strongly desired.

Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent graphic design and technical writing skills needed, demonstrated by a portfolio including relevant examples for this position. Candidate must be familiar with key applications across the Adobe Creative Cloud, with experience developing and editing content in Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign. Strong understanding of current online B2B marketing concepts, strategy and best practice is required. Candidate must also be proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher. Ability to travel up to 15%. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
