What are the core responsibilities for the role?
- Assist in the management and day-to-day operations of an Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) fiber optic network
- Perform telecommunications design, including the creation of fiber optic splicing diagrams and fiber optic acceptance test sheets
- Read and interpret construction drawings and plans accurately
- Assist with updating databases and maintaining accurate documentation
- Complete tasks independently and collaboratively in both office and field environments
- Demonstrate a high level of proficiency with computers, technology, and software, with the ability to learn new tools and systems quickly
- Work with GPS data and GIS mapping software
- Conduct fieldwork, including site surveys, inspecting fiber optic builds and construction, and troubleshooting fiber optic infrastructure issues
- May assist with the configuration and installation of network devices
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
- 0-3 years of related work experience
- Driver’s license required for company vehicle use
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability and willingness to perform field tasks in varying weather
- Passionate about technology
- Associates degree (preferred)
- Entry-Level coding experience (preferred)
- Experience in AutoCAD/Civil 3D (preferred)
- Experience with Microstation (preferred)
- Experience in geospatial analysis and mapping (ArcGIS) (preferred)
- Experience in the fiber optic industry (preferred)
