Headquartered in Cedar Park, TX, Hellas is proud to be the largest sports construction contractor in the U.S. Specializing in the construction of sports facilities and synthetic surfaces, we manage all aspects of our business in-house, including artificial turf manufacturing, base construction, and the installation and maintenance of fields, tracks, and tennis courts. Key Responsibilities:

  • Create high-quality schematics and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D (e.g., site topography, grading plans, drainage plans, construction details, and SWPPP documents).
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, Sales, Estimating, and Turf) and external stakeholders (clients, architects, engineers) to ensure designs meet project requirements.
  • Prepare shop drawings for post-tension concrete sport courts (e.g., tennis, basketball).
  • Render logos and color renderings for proposals using GIMP, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite tools.
  • Perform site layout design, grading plans, and earthwork calculations.
  • Assist with hydrology and hydraulics tasks, including drainage design and grading tools.
  • Address permitting agency comments and make necessary adjustments to designs.
  • Maintain organized records of design iterations and ensure timely project completion.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members and participate in client meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required).
  • 3-5 years of experience in site development or civil design.
  • Advanced understanding of site topography, stormwater management, earthwork analysis (cut/fill), site grading, and layout (required).
  • Experience preparing construction documents (e.g., stormwater drainage design, earthwork analysis, hydrologic analysis, SWPPP, construction details) is a plus.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification is a plus.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with tools like RETAINPRO10, HydroCAD, TR-55, Google Earth Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, and Procore is a bonus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels internally and externally.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in converting technical information into construction-ready drawings.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team under the supervision of a design engineer.

Delineation Between Classifications

A CAD Drafter requires more direction and input from management to complete tasks, while a CAD Designer is well-versed in their field's standards and requirements and can independently handle a significant portion of a project with minimal oversight.
