- Interpret electrical control system design requirements and create original layouts, iterative assembly and detail drawings, schematics, artwork, isometrics, and illustrations.
- Collaborate with team engineers to review, analyze, and integrate technical requirements, accuracy, and design approach.
- Develop electro-mechanical packaging for industrial control panels and enclosures based on high-level engineering concepts.
- Select components from Walt Disney Imagineering's preferred manufacturers and prepare detailed design drawings and schematics for industrial control panels using AutoCAD.
- Ensure compliance with UL508a, National Electrical Code (NEC), and ANSI Y14.5 dimension and tolerance practices.
- Present and discuss designs with controls and mechanical engineers and participate in relevant meetings.
- Use Revit to model equipment locations in a ride facility design.
- Produce production assembly drawings, detail drawings, bills of materials, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and equipment lists.
- Finalize and release completed drawings into internal data management systems.
- Review engineering drawings provided by vendors, clients, and other areas for drafting standards consistency.
- Design multi-layer PCB assemblies based on engineering schematics.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in control systems design for electromechanical systems.
- dvanced knowledge of industrial control panel design and components, including PLCs, VFDs, control switches/buttons, enclosures, relays, power supplies, connectors, and terminal blocks.
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical design standards and codes such as UL508a, NEC, and ANSI Y14.5.
- Proficient in developing electrical equipment assemblies, schematics, one-line diagrams, and equipment schedules.
- Expertise in 2D CAD using AutoCAD.
- Skilled in model and drawing revision control.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
- Capable of prioritizing tasks and delivering work on time.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong 3D CAD skills for integrating ride control equipment into facility and mechanical CAD packages and visualizations for other teams.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Solidworks, Revit, and Navisworks.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, including PCB design and fabrication.
- Familiarity with industrial operational technology networking equipment and structured cabling design.
- Knowledge of Rockwell and/or Beckhoff automation system components.
- Field experience in control system wiring, startup, and testing.
- Knowledge of single and multi-layer PCB design, schematics, assemblies, and fabrication.

- Experience with preparing, updating, and revising SolidWorks and EPLAN drawings and models.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software and Adobe tools.
Required Education:
- ssociate Degree in Electronics or Engineering Design.
Preferred Education:
- Formal training in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or Revit.
dditional Information:
- Electronics/Electrical role only; mechanical design candidates not desired.
- This position is onsite in Glendale, five days a week. May transition to four days onsite (Monday-Thursday) once acclimated.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; Solidworks is a plus but not required.
