Description

Position purpose

To assist the professional staff in the operation of the library.

Major Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
  1. Check and sign in purchase orders.
  2. Stamp, barcode, and process new materials getting them ready for cataloging.
  3. Spine label books and other materials.
  4. Staffing the checkout desk to assist with checkout/check-in circulation and reserve book and material requests.
  5. Assist in keeping the library neat and tidy including re-shelving books and periodicals, inventory, straightening up and organizing.
  6. Assist students, faculty, and staff in locating library materials and take requests for materials not readily available.
  7. Update LibGuides as often as needed to convey monthly information.
  8. Update bulletin board and nook areas to display library offerings.
  9. Assist students and staff with technical issues i.e.- computers, logins, simulators, and printers, etc.
  10. Any other jobs deemed necessary for library operation by FT Professional Staff.

Education and/or Experience Requirements
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word
  • Willing to learn the library system

  • Ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing

  • Ability to understand and follow directions

Work environment and physical functions

This position is located in an office environment. Generally an employee needs to be able to sit, stand, and navigate within the office area. The office equipment either individually used or shared with a department is the responsibility of all employees.

Compensation

The entry level compensation for this position is expected to be 16.00 - 20.00 Per Hour.
