Technical Writer with Document Control Experience
Location: Newark, New Jersey (Hybrid - up to 3 days a week in the office)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Technical Writer with expertise in Document Control to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creating, managing, and maintaining technical documentation, as well as experience ensuring that documents are properly controlled, stored, and accessible. This role will support the development and management of critical documents for our client's projects in the power and utilities sectors.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Technical Writer with expertise in Document Control to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creating, managing, and maintaining technical documentation, as well as experience ensuring that documents are properly controlled, stored, and accessible. This role will support the development and management of critical documents for our client's projects in the power and utilities sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Develop clear, concise, and accurate technical documents, including manuals, reports, procedures, specifications, and user guides.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and project managers to gather technical information and ensure documentation accuracy.
- Implement and maintain document control processes to ensure that documents are properly reviewed, approved, and version-controlled.
- Organize and maintain document filing systems, both physical and electronic, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Track and manage document revisions, ensuring that all team members have access to the latest versions.
- Ensure document consistency and adherence to company templates and guidelines.
- Assist in document audits and ensure that all documentation complies with regulatory requirements and project specifications.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure that document distribution and storage are efficient and secure.
- Provide training on document control processes and best practices as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience as a technical writer, with at least 1 year of experience in document control or document management.
- Familiarity with document control systems, such as SharePoint, or similar platforms.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and understandable documentation.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of power, renewables, and utilities sectors is a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and industry standards for document control is preferred.
