Reports To: Chief Photographer/Senior Photography Editor and Director, Digital & Social Content

Job Classification: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

The New York Yankees are looking for creative and talented individuals to join our Photography Intern Program. The ideal candidates are enthusiastic about creating fresh content and are skilled in shooting and editing photos.

This will be a hands-on program that provides interns the chance to gain experience in their field of photography, supporting one of the most storied and successful sports organizations in the world. The internship is anticipated to run through the end of the 2025 MLB season, with schedules based on the Yankees' needs during the baseball season and the off-season. This is a paid position (no school credit is available). The Intern assists the Team Photographer and Social Media team in supporting the team's business functions - community, corporate partnerships, ticketing, marketing, events, etc. - with storytelling through photographs, post-production including keywording and archiving.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assist Yankees photography and social media staff with daily game day needs, including shooting fan photos, corporate signage, special events, game action, product shoots, ticketing events, fan experience, pregame ceremonies and other projects as assigned
  • Live edit games for upload to Getty Images
  • Edit, caption, tag, archive, and organize all images and files for the New York Yankees archive
  • Shoot non-game day events
  • Monitor social media trends and present new ideas to enhance the current content strategy
Qualifications and Experience:
  • 2 years of photography experience preferred
  • Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite, Photo Mechanic and PhotoShelter to catalog, keyword and archive images
  • Experience with digital asset management, including meta-data tagging and management, preferred
  • Ability to work in an outdoor stadium setting, including the ability to work effectively in potentially hot, cold, humid, rainy and/or loud conditions
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where you will be required to problem-solve, follow direction, and produce content in real-time under tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues, external partners and the public
  • Ability to work in a sports environment in a professional manner
  • Strong understanding of social media landscape and how to capture engaging content for specific platforms
  • Ability to carry camera gear up weighing up to 50 lbs. at a time while walking, climbing, kneeling, standing and crouching for extended periods of times in a crowded environment; standing/shooting for 7+ hours on game days
  • Travel to locations outside of work for photo shoots as needed

The hourly rate for this position is $17.50/hour.
