The salary range for this position is $91,900 - $114,900 per year based upon a San Francisco location. Offered salary is dependent upon experience and location. We are currently seeking a junior to mid-level Packaging Production Artist to join our creative packaging team. This position is a hybrid-on site role in the San Francisco Bay Area - This is NOT a graphic design role. Candidates without packaging print production experience will not be considered.

Primary Function:

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Packaging Production Artist who can seamlessly join a highly productive and fast paced environment. Must be a team player who is fast, accurate and organized. A keen eye for design, typography and attention to detail is essential. Must feel comfortable following strict brand guidelines. A thorough understanding is required of the various printing processes and manufacturing techniques for both primary and secondary packaging. Candidate should also be comfortable doing basic photo retouching, creating comps by hand, and mocking up samples. This position will report to the Director of Packaging Print Production.

Create Print-Ready Mechanicals according to brand guidelines for:

• All Packaging Needs - Secondaries, Primaries, Ancillaries, etc.
• Layout, revise and prep production-ready mechanicals for the vendor
• Release files to vendor for both sampling and production
• Review and approval of all related print proofs

Required Skills:

• 3+ years of years of Production Artist experience in Packaging required
• Proficient in the following software:

- Illustrator

- Photoshop

- InDesign

• Highly motivated and able to take initiative
• Must be able to work independently and in conjunction with cross-functional teams
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent typography skills
• Knowledge of common industry printing processes and manufacturing techniques
• Experience in the color cosmetics and beauty industries preferred, passion for beauty & fashion is a plus
• Comp/prototype experience is a plus
