Industrial Designer
Location: Ashburn, VA- hybrid

We're looking for an Industrial Designer to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of designing innovative, functional, and market-leading products. If you're experienced in bringing ideas to life through 3D modeling, rendering, and hands-on collaboration with cross-functional teams, this role might be perfect for you!

About the Role:

As an Industrial Designer, you'll be at the forefront of product design, transforming concepts into visually appealing, functional products that delight users and align with brand guidelines. You'll work closely with engineering, marketing, and manufacturing teams, ensuring that our products meet both technical standards and user needs. Using your expertise in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, you'll create 3D models, renderings, and animations to communicate your ideas effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with teams across engineering, marketing, and manufacturing to gather requirements and establish design specifications.
  • Generate innovative design concepts and develop detailed 3D models using SolidWorks.
  • Create high-quality renderings and animations for presentations, helping bring concepts to life for internal and client reviews.
  • Prepare and maintain design documentation, including drawings and specifications.
  • Revise designs based on feedback, user testing, and new insights.
  • Stay updated on design trends, new materials, and manufacturing processes to ensure our products are cutting-edge.
  • Actively participate in user research to inform and refine your designs.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively, contributing to a supportive team environment and positive work culture.
What We're Looking For:
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Art, or a related field, with at least five years of experience in product design and development, and/or the combined equivalent of experience and education.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in 3D modeling and rendering software, particularly SolidWorks. Experience with creating detailed renderings and presentations.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with manufacturing processes, such as injection molding and 3D printing, along with a solid understanding of material selection.
  • Design Sensibility: Strong foundation in design principles, ergonomics, and user-centered design.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey design concepts clearly and work collaboratively.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working under general supervision but motivated to solve problems creatively within established guidelines.
  • Must be a US citizen, eligible to work in a DoD cleared facility.

Cubic Pay Range:

$102,043 - $142,720 + benefits.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
