Job Description
SUMMARY:
We are looking for a CAD Designer to join the Genesis Gaming team.
The CAD Designer will create 3D detailed drawings and designs for high-end casino gaming furniture and tables. The CAD Designer will create these drawings using software such as AutoCAD, Enroute, Microvellum and/or similar programs that will run on our CNC and Beam Saw Equipment. They will also assist the production team with prototyping and direction on the construction of each design.
Our ideal candidate for the CAD Designer role, will have both a background Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM), and also be knowledgeable with designing specifically for furniture and/or carpentry / woodwork.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conceptualize and develop new Casino Furniture designs.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure designs are feasible and practical.
- Stay up to date with latest design trends and materials.
- Create designs in both 2D and 3D technical drawings using Computer-aided-design (CAD) packages (such as AutoCAD, Microvolume or Enroute).
- Create designs for various casino furniture pieces such as but not limited to craps tables, blackjack tables, roulette tables, midi baccarat tables, bean baccarat tables, podiums, and poker tables.
- Skillfully execute designs that involve various angles and curves, which require careful planning and attention to detail, especially when working with materials like plywood, plastic, MDF, and solid surfaces.
- Incorporate the needed elements into designs to house our Bravo Tracking hardware.
- Incorporate feedback from Clients and stakeholders into designs.
- Produce design output needed for use on our various CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) equipped devices such as our CNC and Beam Saw.
- Assist production team with prototyping of the design through the production, assembly, and verification processes.
- Will follow and assist with development of company standard procedures on all aspects of production (examples: what bits and cutting techniques to use, how to cut each material).
- Troubleshoots design issues.
- Identify and resolve issues related to the CAM machining process.
- Communicates with machine operator to verify and improve cut files.
- Will provide the needed materials per job to Purchasing department.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or at least three years’ related hands-on experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of Furniture/cabinetry design and programming experience; specifically working with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM).
- Prior experience working with AutoCAD 3D designs required.
- Prior experience with SCM and Maestro Control software a plus.
- Prior experience with Enroute a plus.
- Prior experience with Microvellum a plus.
- 2D and 3D design required.
- Should be knowledgeable of hardware such as hinges, locks, drawer slides, handles/knobs, brackets, and fasteners.
