Primary Duties
1. Produces intricate highly complex 2D/3D design models and comprehensive orthographic drawings, plans, sections, elevations, and 3D isometric views using AutoCAD/CADWorx for construction and operation purposes.
2. Provides guidelines and expertise to Engineering and other designers to resolve piping and facility design issues by selecting the appropriate pipeline and electrical route that meet applicable codes and standards.
3. Provides advanced-level technical support to the CAD drafting/designing staff, contractors, IT, and other end-user clients according to industry practices while also mentoring and acting as a technical resource to less experienced drafters and designers.
4. Proficiently reads, comprehends, and creates Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD's), and electrical wiring diagrams.
5. Analyze and comprehend complex piping drawings, as-built closing packages, and field data redlines to update models reflecting as-built conditions.
6. Proficient knowledge of pipeline alignment sheet software such as Civil 3D and principles to analyze, review, and audit drawings according to industry standards.
7. Proficient knowledge of engineering programs used to update piping specifications, equipment, isometrics, and pipeline record scans.
8. Establishes pipeline design procedures, templates, reports, and standard guidelines.
9. Represents the Company on internal and external committees of projects concerning CAD and its data, leading as-built assignments, and other special tasks.
10. Knowledge of compressor station facility equipment and functionality such as wellheads, separators, scrubbers, coolers, tanks, and compressors and knowledge of ASME codes and DOT regulations.
11. Administers document control management systems as required to ensure integrity and preservation of record drawings.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Educational/Experience Level
Bachelor's degree in Computer Drafting or a related field and two years related experience in pipeline design and CAD drafting; or equivalent
Communication Skills:
Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information on technical concepts to individuals with little or no experience or knowledge of the technical area.
Numeric Skills:
Requires the ability to perform analysis involving ratios, percentages, simple statistical methods, algebra, trig, and geometry and land survey data.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in 3D AutoCAD, CADWorx Plant Professional, CADWorx Steel, CADWorx Equipment, CADWorx PID Plant Professional, CADWorx Isogen, Raster Design as well as several Microsoft products. CADWorx Spec Editor, Civil 3D, Recap, Navisworks, and Trimble RealWorks preferred.
Work Conditions:
Works primarily in an office environment but will require periodic trips to field and construction sites. Includes occasional travel out of town overnight. Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
