Job Description

The Marketing Analyst will provide strategic marketing data analytics while supporting marketing programs and communications to help drive above-market growth with key distribution partners and end users. They will work with segment and product managers to provide sales support by developing educational tools, marketing collateral, and promotions.

The Hobart Filler Metal division is part of ITW Welding North America. This role will support Hobart's accelerated growth segments. The position will be based in Troy, Ohio and will report to the Marketing Manager.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Sales Data Analysis and Identify Market Trends - e.g. Pricing Contracts / Customers, etc.
  • 80/20 & Product Line Simplification (PLS) Support - Use 80/20 to create focus around specific and well-vetted target distribution.
  • Competitive Trends / Analysis - Understand competitive pricing trends
  • Market Research & Market Sizing Support - Coordinate efforts with segment-focused resources to ensure an outside-in approach to strategy development by gathering deeper end market segment understanding (includes market sizing, pervasive trends, common welding applications and problems, etc.).
  • Tactical Marketing Communication Support (Product) - Develop sustained marketing strategies to effectively communicate to target audiences: including web site, social media posts, trade shows, literature, road shows, distributor events, etc.
  • Support Business Development (Lever 1 & Lever 2 Activities) & Broader Sales Support (Product) - Understand and apply the ITW Welding selling model and provide tools and materials to support the sales team.
  • Communicate across divisions to coordinate activities within the Industrial Platform, leveraging the associated marketing activities possible.
  • Leverage the capabilities of the ITW Enterprise Marketing team, brand, digital, research, and event management.
  • Develop and promote a culture that encourages our core values of integrity, respect, trust, shared risk, and simplicity.

Qualifications
  • Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing or business.
  • Ideally, 1-2 years of experience preferred in marketing technical products in a B2B environment, or relevant internships.
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Team player with a positive attitude and high motivation.
  • Thrive in a culture with a high degree of trust and accountability.
  • Ability to build relationships among employees, distributors, and key end-users.
  • Comfortable presenting and facilitating before internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-moving environment that values an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Experience using design and editing software (such as Canva) is a plus.
  • Experience working with or adjacent to manufacturing processes such as welding or machining is a plus
  • Expected travel is less than 20%.
