COMPENSATION: 
$20 - $25 / Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY: 
The Media Specialist is an extremely talented individual who is passionate about storytelling through visual media. This role involves capturing high-quality footage, editing video content, and producing engaging final products that align with our brand's vision and objectives. You’ll work closely with the
Program Executive Director to film events, programs, promotional materials, and social media content, bringing creative concepts to life and ensuring our visual storytelling reflects the organization’s goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
  • Collaborate with the Program team to conceptualize and plan video projects from inception to completion. 
  • Operate cameras and other equipment to capture high-quality video content in various settings. 
  • Edit raw footage using industry-standard software such as Adobe Premiere, Canva and Final Cut Pro to create polished final products. 
  • Incorporate motion graphics, sound design, and other post-production techniques to enhance video quality. 
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality.
 QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • College degree in Cinematography, Film Production, Marketing, or related field; or 4 years equivalent in related work experience. 
  • Proficiency in video production techniques, including videography and post-production processes. 
  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and Canva. ● Familiarity with creating content for various social media platforms, understanding platform-specific trends and requirements. 
  • Strong understanding of camera operations, lighting, and sound equipment. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. ● Strong communication skills and the ability to receive constructive feedback positively. ● Excellent attention to detail with a strong sense of visual storytelling. 
  • Knowledge of drone operation preferred. 
  • Commitment to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ● Ability to travel from one location to another in a timely location required. 
  • A portfolio showcasing previous work in videography and editing is highly desirable. ● Exemplifies the YMCA mission and the pillars of character development: honesty, caring, respect, responsibility, and diversity. 

This position and its pay are dependent on the availability of funds and continuation of the contracted program. The current contract provides programming for June 2024 - July 2025 with the likely possibility of extension for an additional two years (until July 2027).
