The FLY Initiative is a pioneering, all-inclusive personal finance education program dedicated to empowering teens and young adults across Rhode Island, New York, and Massachusetts. Since our founding in 2018, we have reached over 7,500 individuals and built partnerships with more than 130 academic and community-based organizations. Our mission is to provide equitable access to financial literacy tools and education, empowering the next generation to achieve financial freedom and long-term success.

Position Overview
The FLY Initiative is seeking a dynamic, creative, and results-driven Marketing & Social Media Manager to amplify our mission and expand our brand presence across digital platforms. In this role, you will lead the development and execution of our marketing and social media strategies to drive awareness, engagement, and program enrollment.
The ideal candidate is a passionate storyteller with a proven ability to create compelling content, grow online communities, and deliver measurable results. You will play a key role in enhancing our visibility and cultivating meaningful connections with stakeholders, including students, educators, donors, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Brand Management:
- Plan, develop, and implement content calendars for FLY's social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube) to ensure consistent and strategic messaging.
- Create visually engaging graphics, infographics, videos, and multimedia content using tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms.
- Write and edit impactful captions, blog posts, newsletters, and press releases that align with FLY's brand voice and mission.
- Collaborate with internal teams to highlight success stories, program impact, and organizational milestones.
Social Media & Community Engagement:
- Actively monitor all social media platforms, responding to comments, messages, and mentions to foster a positive and engaged online community.
- Proactively engage with key audiences, including students, educators, influencers, and partners, to amplify FLY's reach.
- Identify and participate in trending conversations, hashtags, and challenges to keep FLY relevant and visible.
- Build partnerships with social media influencers, educators, and community leaders to expand our digital presence.
Strategy Development & Execution:
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and social media strategies aligned with FLY's organizational goals, including fundraising initiatives, program launches, and special events.
- Lead creative marketing campaigns to promote specific programs, workshops, and fundraising events.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify growth opportunities across platforms and innovative ways to increase audience engagement.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance metrics (KPIs) such as reach, engagement, conversion rates, and follower growth.
- Use data-driven insights to inform strategies, optimize performance, and continuously improve content and campaigns.
- Stay ahead of the curve by researching and implementing best practices, tools, and emerging trends in social media marketing.
Collaboration & Leadership:
- Work closely with the CEO, program leads, and external partners to ensure consistent messaging across all digital and traditional marketing channels.
- Serve as an internal thought leader, contributing innovative ideas and strategic solutions to enhance FLY's outreach efforts.
- Provide occasional support for on-site events and media opportunities to capture live content and engage attendees in real-time.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3+ years of professional experience as a Social Media Manager, Marketing Manager, or similar role, ideally in education, nonprofit, or social impact sectors.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube) and management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Later).
- Content Creation: Strong design skills with experience in tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator), or similar platforms.
- Writing & Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
- Analytics: Knowledge of social media analytics tools and a track record of using data to drive results.
- Creativity & Innovation: A passion for storytelling and the ability to think outside the box to engage and inspire audiences.
- Organization: Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines independently.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field is preferred.
