FHE Health is hiring: Music Therapist in Deerfield Beach

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Music Therapist to join our team in Deerfield Beach, FL. As a Music Therapist, you will be responsible for providing music therapy services to individuals of all ages and backgrounds, with a focus on mental health and substance use disorder. Your primary goal will be to use music to help clients achieve their therapeutic goals and improve their overall quality of life.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy or related field
• Board Certification in Music Therapy
• TB test and other required health screenings
• 2+ years experience working with individuals with substance use disorder and or a variety of mental health diagnoses.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters' degree in Music Therapy or related field preferred
• 3+ years working experience as music therapist preferred
• Experience with patients in detox preferred
• Proficiency in piano, playing guitar, drums or other instruments

Responsibilities:

• Assessing patients' needs and developing individualized treatment plans
• Providing music therapy services to patients in individual and group settings
• Documenting client progress and communicating with other healthcare professionals as needed
• Maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for clients
• Staying up-to-date with current research and best practices in music therapy

Skills:

As a Music Therapist, you will use your expertise in music therapy, mental health, crisis intervention, and occupational therapy to provide high-quality care to our clients. You will also need to have excellent communication and documentation skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals. Additionally, proficiency in piano or other instruments is preferred, as it will allow you to provide a wider range of music therapy interventions.
