Job Description: As part of the Global Experience Design team within McDonald’s Customer Experience (MCX), you’ll help lead the evolution and implementation of our multi-sensory design language across omnichannel experiences built for billions of customers and restaurant team members around the world. You’ll be a critical player in the newly established Foundations group within XD (consisting of accessibility, design systems, and UX writing teams), reporting to the group director and collaborating closely with other leaders throughout the product and design organization. Qualifications: To succeed in this role, you’ll have deep, demonstrable experience in the following areas: Elevating the quality of experiences through your industry-leading expertise in visual style, interaction patterns, and emerging design/technology trends Defining what best-in-class experiences look like for designers, engineers, and product managers, and showing them how to get there through prototyping Regularly auditing existing experiences to improve on or incorporate components, patterns, and tools that scale consistency and efficiency Emphasizing the customer and business value of inclusive interfaces and experiences that incorporate WCAG, Apple HIG, and Material Design best practices across surfaces and tech stacks Managing complexity and ambiguity at a global scale while leading through craft in partnership with leaders at all levels and across all areas of the business Significant technical understanding of the opportunities and constraints of web and mobile applications and the modern code frameworks behind them (e.g., Next.js, Kotlin, SwiftUI, and more) You’ll knock our socks off if you have: Demonstrable experience turning design visions into functional expressions through advanced functional prototyping Experience working in a design system that’s built for customers and enterprise users Worked for a global brand that designs omnichannel commerce experiences that include the built environment To have obtained these skills, you likely have closer to a decade of experience than a few years, but we encourage you to apply if these abilities match yours.
