INTERIOR DESIGNER (Interior Architecture Division)

Summary: Participate with a design team on multiple projects in the implementation of high-end interior design solutions for each project from concept stage through installation for residential, hospitality, and commercial projects/properties. The Interior Designer will work under the Principal, Director, and Senior Designer and participate in all aspects of the design process from schematic design to construction documentation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Work as a member of the design team to develop designs, concepts, schematics, and specifications on multiple projects.
  2. Research and analyze the client's goals and requirements, developing documents, drawings, and diagrams that outline those needs.
  3. Prepare and complete contract documents to meet client program, company standards, and project budget constraints including design presentations, modeling, construction drawing sets, floor plans, elevations, specifications, FF&E selections, custom furniture design documentation, and material finishes packages.
  4. Formulate preliminary space plans, render two- and three-dimensional design concept studies and sketches that integrate the client's needs based on knowledge of interior design principles and human behavior theories.
  5. Confirm that preliminary space plans and design concepts are safe, functional, aesthetically appropriate, and meet all public health, safety, and welfare requirements.
  6. Draft, interpret, and modify architectural designs and construction documents.
  7. Prepare construction documents, consisting of plans, elevations, details, and specifications, to illustrate non-structural and/or non-seismic partition layouts; power and communications locations; reflected ceiling plans and lighting designs; materials and finishes.
  8. Observe and report on worksite installations and building conditions as the project progresses.
  9. Prepare construction documents to adhere to regional building and fire codes, municipal codes, and any other jurisdictional statutes and regulations applicable to the interior space, ensuring ADA compliance.
  10. Select colors, materials, and finishes to appropriately convey the design concept, functional life-cycle performance, environmental, and safety requirements.
  11. Assist with selecting and specifying cabinetry, stone scopes, appliances, plumbing fixtures, door and cabinetry hardware, materials, and interior finishes.
  12. Manage the interior design resource library and maintain vendor contacts for interior furnishings, fixtures, and finishes.
  13. Prepare specifications and schedules with accurate product information for all millwork, casework, appliances, plumbing, hardware, and bath accessories.
  14. Coordinate and collaborate with other design professionals who may be retained to provide consulting services, including architects, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers, and various specialty consultants.
  15. Assist with preparing budget/project cost, fee analysis, proposals, and purchase orders.

EDUCATIONAL AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess a master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field (foreign equivalent accepted), plus 2 years of experience, which may be gained concurrently, using AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Enscape, Bluebeam, Revit, and Specsourses.

Salary: $77,000 - $87,000. Up to 20% telecommute option.
