Description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Civil Site Drafter/Designer to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely based on candidate qualifications.

In this role, you will collaborate directly with our civil engineering team to support our substation and transmission site development group. Your primary responsibilities will involve creating detailed site plans, grading and drainage plans, and various site development details. You will need to demonstrate your capability to follow engineering directions while utilizing survey data, substation overlays, aerial imagery, and site topography to produce comprehensive drawing packages. A strong attention to detail and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D are critical for success in this role, as is the ability to communicate effectively and work with a mindset of continuous improvement.

Primary Tasks:

  • Produce precise site design drawings, including models of site plans, grading and drainage drawings, and detailed site specifications.
  • Develop and maintain AutoCAD Civil 3D templates and standards tailored to client-specific projects.
  • Ensure accurate representation of engineering design details for the development of new substations and the expansion of existing sites.
  • Utilize sound judgment in selecting and interpreting survey data.
  • This role may lead to additional supervisory responsibilities based on performance.

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Level 1 - Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, CAD, or a related scientific/technical discipline preferred; High School diploma required. A CAD certificate and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Level 2 - Bachelor's degree in a technical field. Additional relevant experience may substitute for degree requirements.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in site development.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and MicroStation for drawing creation.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Bentley In-Roads.
  • Familiarity with AutoTURN.
  • Experience within the utility sector.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills.

Pay Range: $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
